Giant Artichoke Restaurant in Castroville

Food was delicious, a little wait but we ordered and got served at a decent time. Very nice restaurant. Cream of artichoke soup was delicious

The food is legit good and the artichoke out front is legit Giant. The fried artichokes were amazing and more than made up for the nachos were so-so and made with that yellow cheese sauce that I'm not a big fan of. Nice place to eat, fun exterior, lovely staff, lots of new ways to love artichokes.

We went in on a Friday night and no one was there we were scared but ordered anyway when the food came out it was fabulous!! The presentation and the flavors were so good we will definitely be back!!

I love artichokes but I hate the prep work. This place does the hard part and serves up delicious ways they cook it. I got the appetizer plate with steamed and fried artichoke with a nice thick slice off bread. Hands down the fired artichokes are delicious. The steam artichoke it's gigantic and very tender. I will go back for sure. They also sell frozen artichokes which they had a steady stream of customers come in to pick up. Service is friendly and they'll give you suggestions. I don't recommend the pizza, as it was on one of the pre made pizza dough that's more like a flat bread.

dont be fooled by google reviews of best fried artichoke hearts luring you in. they were not the best, just your average bland fried food with unfabulous dressing choices. the interior needs a rehaul not to mention some lighting. nothing against the staff, they were great and super friendly. I just prefer delicious over blah any day. there is that cool giant artichoke tho'

Delicious .. we tried everything. I like fire roasted best. The steamed hearts we're also great. Also had steamed artichokes and jalapeno dip. Everything was great !!!

They got the best sandwiches. But better than that, we love their deep-fried artichokes!!

I love the Giant Artichoke Restaurant! The people are just wonderful every time me and my family come in to get deep fried artichokes. They are very delicious. I wish i could get the delivered to me in modesto. But i will have to settle for them when i go on vacation. Thank you so much. Cheri Reim

Some of the food was delicious but some was not and when I mentioned it they said the new artichokes weren't as good

Had a half pound burger that was delicious, loved the cream of artichoke soup too, and the deep fried artichoke hearts are the best. Service was fast and very pleasing, but I did go in the evening close to closing time. If like to go on a busy day and try out the service for now I give 5 stars until I try them out on a busy day.

Had the fried artichokes which were good. Wife ordered the NY strip...thinnest I've ever seen. Ordered medium, came well-done and had a funny odor...maybe old. I ordered the 1/2lb burger...extremely dry and also did not seem fresh. Next few days, we both had some digestive issues...Will Not Be Back.

Really outstanding selection of yummy artichoke menu items. We missed the cream of artichoke soup, only available Fri-Sun, but the artichoke eggs Benedict and platter were wonderful.

Giant mushroom has been there since I was a little boy and I'm 74 now I got they have just about any kind of artichoke if you can think of, plus the french fries have an artichoke flavor to him as well I will go there just for the french fries. The waiter was very polite and the food was excellent can't beat it.

It used to be a nice place to stop and pick up some artichokes but now they are all last years crop coming out of the refrigerator, not fresh and prices are high for something that was harvested a few miles away

Had a wonderful lunch with my son. I've been coming here for many years for the fried artichokes. Which are always great. The service was a little slow, but the staff was very nice and polite.

There are artichokes abound here! That's about the only thing good here. The service is very slow. Asked for extra napkins when our meals were served and they bought as we were finishing. Hubby ordered the Chile Verde special. Ordered corn tortillas, received flour, lol. I ordered the steamed artichoke hearts with spinach artichoke dip. Not sure why it's called a dip, when you don't get to eat it like a dip, you would expect some chips or bread to go with the dip. The dip tasted like it had been frozen, not so good . The artichoke hearts were ok after scraping the 'dip' off. We had to try the fried artichoke heartsts yummy!

Where do I start? The atmosphere is the best thing about this place. It took 15 min to take our order. Another 10 to get my coffee. The waiter seemed rushed and after I asked again for creamer for my coffee I already waited for I had to go to the front and get it myself. Then our waiter brought coffee to refresh my coffee and spilled it on my WHITE linen pants. After 45 min we finally got our food! I can't imagine what it would be like if it was busy

All I can say is this, if you see a great big huge artichoke, stop and have lunch it was excellent!

Very quaint restuarant. Caring serving staff. Generous servings. & next door is a great little produce shop.

Never disappointed with this restaurant. If you like artichokes this is your place. Get them to show you how to properly eat a steamed artichoke!

Castroville is the artichoke capital and Giant Artichoke is the place to get your fried artichokes, they even got an artichoke patty burger or just go with the beef like I did. Super yummy and worth the trip to Castroville which is only 20 miles from Santa Cruz.

Good food and reasonable prices. If you like Artichokes, this a place for you. Cream of artichoke soup is fantastic.

This was the COOLEST place we could have stopped. Who had ever heard of a restaurant like this? But don’t worry- they have WAY more than just artichokes. I got their Sourdough Melt and it was dynamite. But their artichoke burger was really good too, I tried my wife’s 👍🏼 our waiter Deandre (?) was so great! We can’t wait to come back!

I like to go with friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The meals are tasty and the team is attentive and cooperative. always when we go to this place we have a delightful time. highly recommended.

This place has been around for a long time and for good reason. It's an absolute must if you love artichokes! Their artichoke cupcake and artichoke bread is to die for. I recommend getting the sampler plate (so you can try so many of their items) but make sure your hungry! The sampler will easily feed 3 or 4 adults.

Artichoke and vegetables soup was good. Deep fry artichoke it’s ok. Salad bar is small but enough. They have good variety of plates. Good service. Wasn’t awesome, was good.

I had the Artichoke platter. It was absolutely delicious. And the server was very nice and helpful!!

Food items are great, but the artichoke pound cake it's the best!!!
